Luna New York, New York
Luna was formed in 1991 by Dean Wareham after the breakup of Galaxie 500, with Stanley Demeski of The Feelies and Justin Harwood of The Chills. Guitarist Sean Eden joined in 1994, Lee Wall replaced Demeski on drums in 1997, and Britta Phillips replaced Harwood on bass in 2000. A MUST have for Dean Wareham fans, either in Galaxie 500, Luna or his later material with Britta & now solo projects.The set provides a very rounded retrospective from all his works, including covers by The Velvet Underground (of course), Jonathan Richmond & New Order (previously covered by Galaxie). His trademark languid, 60's influenced pop are displayed to full effect, with his trademark guitar style a distinct feature. Quality fine for a live show, but not great. Wished the set was longer!
